Xiomara Cruz-Johnson, a seasoned NCAA Division I basketball official with over 20 years of experience, has navigated diverse roles in the sport, from Division II player to high school coach. As the founder of Primary Coverage Officiating, she has transformed officiating dynamics, fostering continuous education and growth for both seasoned and emerging talents. Currently active in 12 collegiate conferences, Xiomara serves not only as an official but also as an instructor dedicated to upholding and enhancing basketball rules. Expanding beyond basketball, Primary Coverage Officiating, under Xiomara’s guidance, now provides opportunities for local officials in various sports, maintaining a steadfast commitment to fairness and professionalism.
Reatha Cruz-Johnson's impact extends beyond officiating. She saw the need for strong leadership in referee development and retention, which led her to join Xiomara in coordinating sports officials for games. Through Primary Coverage Officiating, she has built a program that provides structured mentorship, reliable scheduling, and fair compensation for referees. Her goal is to create a positive, professional officiating culture that keeps officials engaged and continuously improving.
